Children’s Ministry
Jesus welcomed children to come to him, even when those around him saw kids as a hindrance to his ministry (Mark 10:13-16). Our desire is to welcome kids like Jesus and see them as just as important as any other person who comes to our church.
We believe that God has given parents the primary responsibility of teaching their kids about him so we see our role as helping parents in this task. We do this by teaching stories from the Bible and connecting them to God’s grand plan to save us through Jesus. We pray that they will not just hear the stories about Jesus, but also understand how to have a personal relationship with him.
We seek to use engaging teaching methods to help these truths stick and help children see how to live them out. We also want to provide resources for parents to learn how to train their children well and prepare them for life in God’s world.

Nursery
(ages 0-2)
Children ages 0-2 will be cared for in a safe and age appropriate space. They will play with toys, read books, enjoy a snack (at parents’ discretion) and volunteers will read a short Bible story lesson during snack time.
Any allergy or special needs should be addressed during check-in. As a matter of safety, the family member who checks-in must be the person to check-out the child.
Risen Hope Kids
(ages 3-6)
Children ages 3-6 should check-in upon arrival but get to participate in the worship service until the last song (around 10:20) when their parent(s) then bring them to the Risen Hope Kids class.
Children begin their time singing and participate in a Bible lesson, activity related to the lesson, snack, craft, and play time. Please be sure to communicate any allergy or special needs upon your initial check-in process.
Family Worship
(ages 7 and older)
We believe that children benefit greatly from joining with the church family in worship. We offer kids’ packets to help train and engage our youngest participants. These packets include clipboards with colored pencils and kid-focused sermon note worksheets.
Safety
Since children are both priceless treasures and defenseless beings, their safety is of vital importance. Risen Hope will seek to conduct its children’s ministry in a manner that provides protection from internal and external threats to their safety. This will include background checks for all workers and internal practices that prioritize safety first.

Bathrooms
Parents are encouraged to take children to the bathroom before the worship gathering. They will receive a text message if their child needs to go to the bathroom during class time.

Snacks
We provide animal crackers, pretzels, or gluten free graham crackers. We also have baby snacks for the nursery. Please note any allergies or instructions about snacks when you check in your child.
