What to Expect

Sundays at 10:00 am - Walker Elementary

Look for the sign on W Washington St. (south side of the school) directing you to park and enter on the north side of the school.

Arrive early and connect with us before the worship gathering!

A warm welcome

We hope as you visit that you will discover that we are all people who sin and need God’s grace – none of us has it all together. So come join us and learn from God’s Word, the Bible, how God provides what we need to be transformed day by day.

Something for your kids

We offer nursery for children infant-2yrs old and a class for 3-6yr olds. Our kids’ ministries are staffed by people who have been trained and passed a background check. Children may be checked in when you arrive. You can drop off your children for nursery before the worship gathering. Children 3-6yrs old worship with their families and then gather in the hallway during the last song before the sermon. Teachers will take them to the gym where they can be picked up after. They’ll sing, go through a Bible lesson, eat a snack, and enjoy crafts and activities together. We provide packets for children 7 yrs old and up to help them be engaged with God’s Word during the sermon. You can read more about our kids’ ministry here.

Coffee & Bagels

When you come into our gathering area, we’ll have coffee and would love to connect with you for a few minutes before we worship together. Every last Sunday of the month we add bagels to the mix!

What to expect during the service...

Our worship gathering

The main reason we gather together on Sunday mornings is to worship our great God. Our goals each week are to exalt God, encourage each other, and display the greatness of God to those who don’t know him yet!

We’ll sing songs that speak truth, are congregationally appropriate, centered on Him, and lead by men and women who help direct our focus and attention to Christ. The songs are previewed each on our facebook page so you can be familiar with and prepare your hearts each week. The lyrics will be projected on screen during the service so we can sing with one voice and heart in worship.

We’ll read Scripture, and study through a passage of Scripture in a sermon, seeking to understand what God reveals about Himself and us through His Word. The service will typically be around 1 hour and 15 mins.

Fellowship - after the worship gathering

A midwestern goodbye

We’re glad you’ve come, but we’d like to stay connected and encourage you to grow throughout the week too. You’re welcome to stick around after the service and talk, but we’d also encourage you to take advantage of other ways to grow together. We have Community Groups in homes twice a month on Sunday nights. These groups foster stronger relationships as we spend time talking, discussing the sermon, and praying for each other’s burdens. We also have men’s and women’s Bible studies at different times during the week. Check out our calendar and ask someone at Risen Hope about how you can become involved!
