Church Planting Pastor
Andrew’s journey with Christ began early. Raised in a home where church was a central part of family life, he heard the good news about Jesus dying to pay for sins from a very young age. However, it wasn’t until a time when his mother lovingly confronted him about his behavior that he grasped the personal significance—that Jesus died for his sins. This led him to embrace Christ’s gift of salvation personally.
Andrew’s early years were filled with normal moments of everyday life – family, friends, and school. However, God used a pivotal moment in his childhood—the passing of his grandfather—to make him seriously think about what kind of work he should dedicate his life to. At the funeral, Andrew was moved by the many people who spoke of his grandfather’s impact on their lives. He saw and understood how serving as a pastor changed lives. A few years later as he entered high school, his youth pastor had a profound influence on Andrew’s spiritual growth by emphasizing the importance of spending daily time reading and studying the Bible to grow in knowing and walking with God. The lives of these two men motivated him to enroll in college with the goal of preparing for pastoral ministry.

During his junior year of college, he met his wife, Elizabeth. Andrew’s family had helped plant a church when he was in high school, and God used a mission trip in Elizabeth’s life to give her a burden for church planting. Early on in their relationship, they discussed the possibility of planting a church someday. They saw a significant need for loving, Bible-centered fellowships in many communities.
Andrew completed a bachelor’s degree in Bible, a master’s in counseling, and a Master of Divinity degree prior to working full time as a pastor. He has served in several roles as an assistant pastor, interim pastor, and Pastor for Discipleship and Outreach.
In 2023, God opened a door for Andrew and his family to pursue the dream of planting a church through a church planting residency at Lakewood Baptist Church. In January of 2024, the pastors and congregation of Lakewood voted to send Andrew and his family along with a team of people from Lakewood to plant a church in the community of West Allis. Many of those on the church planting team have lived in the West Allis and surrounding communities for many years, so they are excited to plant a church in their neighborhood. They are eager to serve and bless the community through Risen Hope Church.
Andrew and the church planting team at Risen Hope Church look forward to connecting with you and growing this local church together by spreading God’s love through the good news that Jesus came to save us!
